Two memorable days of joyful celebration for Mevis’ 50th anniversary were held on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 September. Over 800 guests attended the event. The celebration of fifty years of success was inaugurated in style by a gala dinner attended by local authorities and representatives of key national and international customers. The event reached its climax with a party for all employees and their families, confirming that people are the heart and soul of a company that believes strongly in the value of individual talent. The President of Confindustria, Emma Marcegaglia, took the opportunity of transmitting her personal congratulations for the excellent results achieved in these extremely difficult years for the Italian economy. To celebrate this important milestone, Mevis has also related its exciting industrial and human adventure in a book entitled ‘A spring for progress: the story of a family and a company’ written by Luigi Borgo, and in a video documentary on the origins of north east Italy’s industrial culture , ‘A spring for progress: the beginnings of industry, 1961’. Conceived and directed by Pierfranco Murru, the video recounts the history of Mevis against a broader historical and social background.
