On 13 May, Mevis welcomed the eighth edition of the Machine Tool Olympics, an exciting team competition - this year with 33 participating teams! – open to students from technical high schools (mechanical engineering) and professional training centres of the Province of Vicenza. The initiative, organised by the mechanics section of Confindustria Vicenza with Icimu (Union of Machine Tool Manufacturers), aims to push young people to test their knowledge through an educational and playful experience, while at the same time encouraging the dissemination of the most modern programming technologies for production plants, as well as raising awareness of the professionalism and skills required. The competition, which consist of theoretical and a practical tests, was followed by a round table discussion with Massimo Carboniero, President of the mechanics section and Vice-President of Ucimu, Federico Visentin, President of Mevis spa, Marco Rosati, Head of Internal Relations and Association Development at Ucimu, Diego Caron, Councillor of the mechanics section, and Carlo Ratto, Country Manager of Kaizen Institute Italy. The day ended with the presentation of the Olympic winners.
