PLANT LOGISTICS MANAGER
The Plant Logistics Manager's objective is to ensure the management of material procurement and product shipment activities with a view to continuous improvement of customer satisfaction.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Plant Logistics Manager reports to the Plant Manager and coordinates a team of about 25 people dedicated to the raw material warehouse, finished product warehouse, transport, shipping and general services.
The Logistics Manager will be responsible for:
- planning, organising and coordinating the procedures and resources required for the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods;
- coordinating and supervising the activities of warehouse personnel so as to optimise the available resources;
- checking the delivery of orders and the status of goods;
- verifying the correct handling of receiving operations and the sorting of goods within the warehouse;
- ensuring the administrative management of the warehouse and shipments;
- ensuring the correspondence between the documentation and the material handled;
- checking that the material is correctly inspected by the warehousemen and controlling the quantitative and qualitative correspondence, also by drawing up cyclic inventories to check stock levels- supervise the management of storage spaces by giving instructions to staff on how to manage them;
- ensuring that safety regulations are complied with;
- liaising with hauliers, customers, suppliers and internal functions;
- managing export and import activities (mastering international transport regulations, issuing and managing the documentation required for the various export countries);
REQUIRED SKILLS AND CHARACTERISTICS
- Solid experience in a similar position gained in structured manufacturing companies, preferably in the automotive sector.
- Knowledge of the logic and dynamics relating to the receipt, storage, handling and shipment of managed products.
- High-secondary education diploma with a technical-commercial orientation.
- Good knowledge of the English language, written and spoken.
- Knowledge of the main information systems.
- Knowledge of SAP management systems preferred.
- Capacity for organisation, efficiency and accuracy.
- Communication and coordination skills.
- Customer and result orientation.
- Orientation towards continuous improvement.
- Flexibility, proactivity and ability to manage stress.
