The Safety Technician collaborates to define and install appropriate safety devices (both active and passive) for self-constructed machines and systems.
They also assist in maintaining safety devices on machinery (preventive, condition-based, corrective, and improvement-oriented maintenance) and help extend corporate procedures to other production plants.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
The Safety Technician, integrated within a structured team and reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager:
- Defines, analyzes, compares, and standardizes types of safety devices (photoelectric barriers, micro-switches, emergency stop buttons, metal and polycarbonate barriers, etc.).
- Installs and ensures the proper upkeep of these devices.
- Conducts sample audits across various departments to verify the correct functioning of safety devices on machinery.
- Contributes to drafting the "Risk Assessment" for self-constructed systems.
- Updates and archives technical documentation (manuals) related to the safety devices of the systems.
- Defines and standardizes spare parts for safety devices to be managed in the warehouse.
- Implements and disseminates "corporate" procedures across various plants.
SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Diploma in ITS Mechatronics, Electrotechnical Technician, or from a vocational school (electrotechnical or maintenance and technical assistance focus).
- Understanding of the operational principles of machines in production systems.
- Problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the main safety issues related to different types of risks.
